All the rooms we booked were nice and spacious for us, the beds were nice and comfortable. Only a five minute walk down the road to clean modern cafe for a very good breakfast.

Each time we visit the village (Stradishall) where my ancestors lived we stay at the Bay Horse since it is comfortable, clean, has lovely views over the countryside and is close to where we are researching.

We stayed in the room attached to the pub on a 2 night stay midweek , we did not find it noisy although told it could be at weekends. It proved to be a very cosy room and excellent value for money. Great location within easy reach of town and surrounding countryside. Good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Would stay again.

Very friendly owners, locals and staff at the pub! Lovely town and shops within 2 minutes walk and were recommended to go to the cafe for breakfast which was really nice. Would happily go back again for a couple of nights away if it was just slightly closer to where I live.

Individual chalet style rooms with your own front door are a nice idea and convenient. I have stopped here before and will continue to use in the future

Great value for money. Spacious, comfortable, clean room away from the pub, with fantastic views over the meadows. The staff were friendly, and as we were staying on a Saturday night, we managed to catch an excellent band in the bar as well.

Saturday night and loud music in the pub but this stopped promptly and we had a very good night's sleep. Huge bed! Hot water shower in the morning and kettle for tea too.The dog was allowed into the room with her box which allowed us to relax knowing she was not in the car all night.
The room seemed a bit 'musty' (odour from the carpet perhaps?) when we arrived but with the window open no allergic reactions (hay feaver) occurred!

Great position, close to town centre with good views across the water meadows at the bottom of the pub garden.
Only minor thing was shower door didn't open very far before hitting the wash basin

We booked The Bay Horse as it was only about 2 miles from a family party we were attending in Long Melford. We were allocated room 1 which was behind the pub with views overlooking the garden and river. The room itself was very clean and comfortable although the shower was a bit of a squeeze to get into due to the door being restricted by the wash basin. Apart from that it was a very comfortable stay and good value for the £50 we paid for a saturday night.

On arrival we were informed the room we were to stay in had been flooded so we had been moved. We were told that as the room had no windows & only a patio door a fan had been put in the room; we were told if we were too hot to ask for another. We were already aware that breakfast wan't available but we were told about a loacl cafe- 100meteres away- we'd highly recommend this. We took a walk into town where we found an abundance of shops, bars & places to eat. After a couple pf pints we returned & chilled on the patio outside our room before getting a takeaway from Youngs chinese next door. I'd recommend The Bay Horse to others & if down Sudbury way again I'll check for vancancies before looking elsewhere.

I was allocated room 1 which has a patio door leading out onto the terrace at the back of the accommodation block. This outside space was terrific especially as I am a smoker. It added greatly to the enjoyment of my stay. The beer in the pub was excellent and it is a long time since I have seen bar billiards, the first time seen by my (adult) sons. The location is better than I first thought - the town centre is only a few minutes walk away
